What You'll Do:

As a Farm Manager, you will carry out our Mission of Love by planning, coordination, and supervision of the staff, field crop production, all livestock activities and general maintenance of the acreage, buildings and structures associates with the agricultural operations. Our Farm Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrates leadership skills and technical competence to manage all aspects of a complex agronomic and livestock enterprise.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies and supervise staff to achieve optimum efficiency, service and customer satisfaction in agronomic crop and livestock production.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to understand, implement and comply with all government regulations pertaining to the management of an agronomic and livestock enterprise.
  • Assists in developing and establishing department goals, and implements policies and procedure for department operations including but not limited to, maximizing production output, achieving optimum feed efficiency, conducting current accepted herd health programs, soil testing, fertilizing, implementing IPM practices, harvesting, storing and utilizing crops and effective record keeping
  • Selects, orients, trains and schedules the Farm Evaluates standards of performance and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.  Resolves staff grievances.   Maintains good interdepartmental relationships.
  • Assists in developing annual operating and capital budgets. Insures budget guidelines are followed.
  • Schedules routine staff meetings to review safety and equipment operating procedures. Provides opportunities to acquire continuing education credits through professional growth and development seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.
  • Coordinates service and staff support for special functions and activities as specified by Administration.

What You Definitely Have:

  • Four year degree in Agriculture/Animal Science from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Four years of practical experience in general farming operations.
  • Minimum of four years supervisory experience.
  • A valid PA Driver's License, with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL certification.
  • The ability to become a PA Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator within six months of employment.
  • Good written, organizational and basic computer skills.
