What You'll Do:

As a Corporate Infection Preventionist, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing direction, facilitate implementation of, and monitor infection control programs at all Masonic Villages' locations.

Our Corporate Infection Preventionist is responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrates current knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, local, state, and federal regulations including OBRA; demonstrates the ability to apply and enforce them in areas of responsibility. Assure implementation of a process for review of nursing care for compliance with OBRA and OSHA regulations through the use of chart reviews, audits, and current studies.

  • Demonstrates the ability to assist Corporate Team/Vice President of Clinical Care and Quality in monitoring and improving the clinical outcomes of our geriatric residents. Leads and monitors the development of infection control programs and assists in other necessary action plans in order to promote clinical excellence. Provides unified and consistent direction to Nursing Leadership and Infection Preventionists at all locations. Plans for and assures collection of infection data in order to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to develop, implement and evaluate an Infection Control Program for the continuum of care at Masonic Village including adults, geriatrics, children, and sub-acute residents. Assures compliance of program standards through environmental rounds, wound rounds, quality indicators, and statistical analysis. Develops and implement policies, procedures and clinical pathways when needed. Performs random audits/infection control surveys at all locations at least bi-annually.

  • Demonstrates the ability to educate employees and others in topics and system changes in order to promote clinical excellence. Assists in orientation of new personnel when needed. Provides education throughout the continuum of care regarding infection control issues and other resident care issues as deemed necessary. Works with Organizational Development and Training in development and implementation of educational programs.

  • Maintains CPR certification.

  • Researches products to determine both clinical and financial feasibility at Masonic Village and makes recommendations to the Corporate team for further consideration.

  • Supports the quality improvement initiative including nursing quality assurance. Assists in developing and completing QI monitors as they relate to Infection Control.

  • Holds monthly meetings with Infection Preventionists/Nursing Leadership at all locations collectively to ensure standardization of practices and appropriate implementation of policies and procedures at all sites. Submits meeting minutes to the Vice President of Clinical Care and Quality for review.

  • Develops, oversees and guides an active organization-wide infection prevention and control program. Assists in completion of Infection Control Risk Assessment and revision of the Infection Control Program based upon results (all locations).

  • Coordinates the development of follow through with action plans to address infection control opportunities for improvement. Participates in surveys conducted by authorized agencies.

  • Serves as a member of the Infection Control Committee at all locations. Routinely attending Monthly/Quarterly Infection Control Committee meetings. Participates in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) planning and meetings at all sites and corporately.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team at multiple locations.

What You Have:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current RN licensure by the PA State Board of Nursing.

  • CPR certification (prior to or upon employment).

  • Basic computer knowledge required.
