What You'll Do:

As a Benefits Manager, you will carry out our Mission of Love by being responsible for the day-to-day performance of staff and associated group benefit programs (health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life/AD&D insurance, voluntary benefits, flexible spending and health care savings account, and retirement plans.) This position provides excellent customer service support, troubleshoots, streamlines and improves procedures and processes.

Our Benefits Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Manages the day to day responsibilities of the organization's health, dental, vision, FSA, H.S.A., life, AD&D, voluntary insurance programs, as well as 403(b) and 401(k) plans.
  • Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the HRIS System (Workday) by auditing and preparing reports on a routine basis and as necessary.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves benefit related issues and assists with the implementation and testing of HRIS modules and system updates.
  • Leads and manages the activities of the HR/Benefits Assistant and FMLA/Leave Specialist positions. This involves assuring compliance with processes and procedures; evaluating work performance; training and coaching team members on new procedures and providing excellent customer service.
  • Oversees the leave of absence process to assure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc...)
  • Assists in the testing of HR/benefit information for system upgrades, data planning, conversion, and implementation processes.
  • Ensures all new hires as part of the onboarding process and have completed benefit elections, payroll deductions and other processes to meet payroll deadlines for processing.
  • Conducts new hire benefit orientation presentations to educate staff about benefit options and enrollment process.
  • Runs reports, collects data and organizes information to submit 403(b), 401(k) and Section 125 discrimination testing. In addition, prepares sample selections for plan audit in preparation of 5500 form.
  • Conducts needs analysis, troubleshooting, and recommendations to improve the HRIS system by assuring the utilization and accuracy of HR/benefit data; and providing reporting and other information to senior management.

What You Definitely Have:

  • BS/BA in Human Resources or related business field or commensurate work experience required.
  • 5 + years of work experience in HR/benefits, administrative or HRIS required
  • CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge/experience in human resource and benefit laws, regulations and best practices and procedures.
  • Technical aptitude in using HRIS and benefit administration systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
