What You'll Do:

As a Fleet Mechanic, you will carry out our Mission of Love by being Responsible for repair and maintenance of the Masonic Village fleet as a member of the garage staff, perform emergency repairs as well as scheduled maintenance and inspections. Responsible for management of the garage in absence of Lead Fleet Mechanic. Our Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the following:

  • Knowledge of automotive electrical, mechanical, air conditioning and computerized systems and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicle inspection requirements to maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles including cars, trucks, buses, trailers, excavating equipment and generators.
  • The demonstrated understanding and skills for assisting in the scheduling of fleet of vehicles for normal required scheduled maintenance and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicle inspection. Works with operators to insure a proper understanding of basic, day-to-day troubleshooting checks required to insure the proper operation of vehicles.
  • Assists the fleet lead person in maintaining accurate and clear records of all maintenance work (preventive, scheduled and emergency) on each vehicle in the fleet as well as required Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicle inspection records.
  • Ensures Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicle inspections are completed as required and routine scheduled maintenance items are performed within accepted standards.
  • Maintains professional growth and development by attending educational, technical and training programs, seminars and courses. Stays current with standards and requirements of regulatory agencies, such as Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicles, Department of Environmental Protection and OSHA, as they relate to the operation and maintenance of the Masonic Village fleet.
  • Completes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required. Generates work orders for additional work or tasks identified in the field and completes or submits them as appropriate.

What You Definitely Have:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Three or more years' experience as an auto mechanic or an equivalent combination of experience and technical training.
  • License to perform Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicle Inspections (Code 4).
  • License to perform Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Emissions Inspections.
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification as a Master Mechanic desirable.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, C.D.L, B Class or higher with P endorsement and air brakes or the ability to obtain such license within one year of employment.
  • Good written, oral, organizational, and computer skills.
